The Opera 2 Costing module is included in V2.15.00, released May 2002. The information below details the new functionality that this module offers.
Key Enhancements
Synchronised Forms: Job Views
Synchronised forms are new to Pegasus Opera 2 Costing. When drilling down on Job Views, Pegasus Opera 2 Costing synchronises all of the windows opened. Plus, any open series of forms can be closed by a single mouse click: close the main or 'parent' form and all 'child' forms are automatically closed.
Synchronised Forms: Contract Views
Also new to Pegasus Opera 2 Costing, these enable you to view all of the individual
jobs associated with a particular contract. In addition to budget values, actual
values are shown, and highlighted in purple if the actual value exceeds the
budget.
Modeless Forms
New to Pegasus Opera 2 Costing, these allow greater flexibility; when performing
a transaction in Costing, you can simultaneously perform transactions in other
Pegasus Opera 2 modules.
Estimates - Single Line Job Quotations
New option: Direct Invoice by Job. This option enables you to produce a single
line quotation, which takes into account all of the costs associated with a
particular job. The first screen shows the selection process, and the second
screen the quotation itself.
Sub-Contractor Functionality
This has been enhanced to record details associated with the Construction Industry
Scheme. Details of cards and certificates can be input: CIS 4, CIS 5, CIS 6.
Expiry dates can be entered and the system will display prompts when these dates
expire. This-Period and Year-to-Date tax reports are also provided.
Cost Rates
Opera allows a maximum of 9 cost rates, Pegasus Opera 2 Costing allows up to 999.
Other Enhancements
Spyglasses - already introduced elsewhere in Pegasus Opera 2, these have been used throughout Costing in preference to standard FoxPro dropdown lists. Spyglasses provide a faster means of filtering information, and short cuts, such as entering the first letter of the information you are looking for, or a question mark for a full list, can be used.
Peoples File - expanded to enable you to specify whether an individual
is a project leader, employee or a sub-contractor.
Commitments - the database has been amended to separate actual and committed
values.
Cost Codes - enhanced to enable you to select which rates are used per
Cost Code. In addition, on Labour Cost Types, you can select an employee and
pull their salaried rate through from the Payroll
module for budgeting purposes.
Global Cost Code Update - this facility is new to Pegasus Opera 2 and
enables you to update a range of Cost Codes and Cost Rates automatically. The
facility is presented in wizard format.
Import Stock Codes - we have enhanced this facility and made it available
in wizard format. Plus we have added the option to select stock items by category
and tick/untick individual items.
Departments - there is now a maintenance tabled dedicated to this, rather
than departments being indicated by a three digit code on a job. There is also
a copy facility allowing you to copy departments from another company.
